Robert D. Poyer is counsel in the Corporate, Banking & Finance, and Startup & Emerging Business Practices, and a member of the Affordable Care Act Initiative Team. He focuses his practice on assisting corporate clients with all aspects of their business operations, including formation, compliance, contract negotiation and drafting, financing and other commercial transactions. Mr. Poyer particularly enjoys working with startup and early-phase companies to navigate their unique challenges. He also represents banks and borrowers in complex commercial financing transactions. Mr. Poyer rejoined Hancock Estabrook from the Ithaca, NY-based law firm of Miller Mayer, LLP. 

  • Served as counsel to various banks in relation to the financing of hospital expansions valued at up to $68 million.
  • Served as counsel to a bank in a $9 million financing of a manufacturing facility.
  • Served as counsel to a borrower in a $33 million financing of a student housing facility.
  • Served as counsel to various borrowers in relation to the financing of hospital expansions valued at up to $64 million.
  • Served as counsel to a retail pharmacy chain in an equity restructuring.
  • Served as counsel to an industrial development agency in a lease/leaseback transaction.
