Janus and Beyond: The Demise of Fair Share Fees?

Hancock Estabrook, LLP, Partner, John F. Corcoran will present at the 2018 New York State Public Employer Labor Relations Association Annual Conference held in Saratoga Springs, New York, July, 18-20. 

Mr. Corcoran will present "Janus and Beyond: The Demise of “Fair Share” Fees?" on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.

This session will analyze the United States Supreme Court’s anticipated decision in Janus v. American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees which will address the constitutionality of “fair share” fees, better known in New York State as “agency fees” under the Taylor Law. Also learn about important new State legislation signed by Governor Cuomo on April 12, 2018, as part of the State budget bill, intended to protect the public sector unions, and their dues revenue stream, in light of the looming shadow of Janus.
