Alternative Dispute Resolution
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provides different approaches to settling disputes outside the courtroom, both before and during litigation or formal administrative proceedings. It typically involves mediation, with a neutral mediator who helps the parties define and resolve their issues, or arbitration. ADR offers parties an opportunity to settle their disputes without having to go to trial, resulting in savings of both time and money.
Hancock Estabrook provides a wide variety of ADR services in domestic and international matters. Our attorneys serve as arbitrators and mediators for commercial, corporate and other business-related disputes, including stock brokerage and shareholder disputes. We provide ADR services in connection with personal injury cases, no-fault insurance and SUM claims. Our attorneys perform these services for organizations, including the American Arbitration Association and CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution, and for private parties.
Matters in which we have been involved include:
- Dispute over insurance coverage for loss of commercial satellite
- Controversy over merger and acquisition agreement between national companies and dispute involving contract to provide telecommunications equipment in Saudi Arabia
